In the framework of SEVIRA project Institute of Limnology, Russia Academy of Sciences IL RAS has continued field works at the catchments of Sestra and Russian part of Rakkolanjoki river. Water samples give information about nitrogen and phosphorus content in different land use types. These data will be used during modeling of nutrient load from the catchments and that is an important information for understanding eutrophication processes in the Gulf of Finland.
In September 2019 IL RAS has taken soil samples from different land use types in Rakkolanjoki catchment. A number of chemical elemets will be analyzed, among them nitrigen and phosphorus. It will be a useful addition for modelling of nutrient load from different types of underlying surface.
