The Aleksanteri Institute organized from 10 to 11 May, 2021.a National Aleksanteri Forum. Ljudmila Vesikko, project coordinator of the SEVIRA project from the Finnish Environment Institute, participated in the: ”Perspectives on Finnish-Russian Environmental Cooperation working group”. There, the various forms of environmental co-operation between Finland and Russia were highlighted. Ms. Vesikko presented Finnish-Russian environmental cooperation through the SEVIRA project (Waters and People Meet - Learn, Act and Influence) funded by ENI-CBC. This project is an example of a well-functioning Finnish-Russian environmental cooperation. In addition to research, environmental education has played a significant role in the project.
The Alexander Forum working group included about 30 participants. Of particular interest was NGO activities in Russia, as one of the Russian partners in the SEVIRA project is Ecocentrum.
